Mutton Chukka

Mutton-1 kg chopped finely without bones
Coriander seed-2 tbsp
Fennel-1 tbsp
Curry leaves-a spring
Cumin-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-a pinch
Green chillies-3 sliced
Onion-2.5 big
Gingely oil
Salt to taste


  1. Roast the cumin and coriander using gingely oil and leave it to cool.Then grind it to a smooth powder.
  2. Boil Mutton with 1/2 cup water+1/2 onion+turmeric powder+3 sliced green chillies for approx 4 whistles in a pressure cooker.
  3. In another pan,heat oil and add fennel+curry leaves+garlic+2 onions chopped finely.Then add the boiled mutton.
  4. Add the powdered mixture and bring it to boil.Then reduce the flame to sim.Wait till all the water drains off.
  5. Add 1/2 spoon of freshly ground pepper and wait for 5 mins and turn off the flame.Serve hot with rice
