Red Chutney with Cashewnuts

I have already posted the white chutney with roasted gram dal here .. Now I am going to share the recipe of Red chutney with Vathal Milagai and Cashew nuts. I have added a bit of tamarind for tanginess. Its also a quick chutney recipe.


Ingredients:
serves 2
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Dry red chilli - 2
Garlic flakes - 3
Tamarind - small pinch
Cashew nuts - 10
Salt to taste

To temper:
Oil
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves and urad dal

Method:
  • Grind together red chillies, coconut, garlic, tamarind and cashew to a smooth paste in a blender/Mixie
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the items listed under to temper.
  • Add the tempering to the ground chutney, mix well and serve with dosai/idli/adai dosai.
